Velvet or Gentle Revolution?

Velvet or Gentle Revolution?

School/Professur:
Did you know that the Czech Republic is almost entirely surrounded by mountains (except to the south, toward Austria and Slovakia)? Mountains mark a natural border with Germany and Poland. Or that the Czech Republic is renowned for its numerous spa towns, especially along the border with Saxony (Germany). The most famous ones are those of Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad), Františkovy Lázne (Franzensbad) and Teplice (Teplitz).

And what did you know about Slovakia? Maybe you knew that Slovakia became the second country from the former Communist block to adopt the Euro as its currency on January 1, 2009.

You maybe know that the Slovak Republic came into existence on January 1, 1993. But did you know that for a brief period during World War II, Slovakia was a protectorate state of Nazi Germany?

Czech and Slovak students from the University of Liechtenstein would like to invite you to the Czech and Slovakia cultural evening which will take place at the Student Dormitory on April 26, 2016.

There will give a short presentation of the history, music, economics, architecture, culture and the special relations with the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Meanwhile the audience will have a chance to participate in a Czech culture based competition and quiz. Afterwards we will host you with the Czech and Slovakian traditional food and drinks.

We will be very happy to see you there and have a great evening together.
